Lower Campus


Primary Focus: Planting approximately 350 trees to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II


Tasks

Lower Campus

  • Cut and remove smaller Chinese Elms in the Northeast corner
  • Clear all planting areas
  • Brush cutting
  • Move all cleared brush to Z1 (See location in image below)
  • Relocate previously planted memorial trees (Quantity: 3)
  • Identify and mark any remaining invasive trees to be removed
  • Loosen soil with water prior to planting (if required)
  • Dig holes for larger trees with auger
  • Transport trees to planting areas
  • Arrange trees in the planting areas
  • Plant larger trees in pre-dug holes
  • Plant smaller trees with shovels and spades
  • Water trees after planting
  • Establish short-term watering roster (until mulch arrives)

Working Bee Location: Toowong State School - Lower Campus

 

All areas to be planted are color coded for specific trees.

 

Any cleared brush should be moved to Zone 1 (Z1).
