ABOUT P&Cs

The Queensland Government Education Department defines the role of a Parents and Citizens Association:

  • work in productive partnership with the school principal and the community
  • promote the interests of the school
  • facilitate school and community development and further improvement
  • achieve the best possible outcomes for students

Specifically, a Parents and Citizens Association will:

  • provide advice and feedback about school activities and policies
  • assist in providing resources to enhance student outcomes
  • facilitate activities and services: fundraising, functions, tuckshops and outside school hours care services (OSHC)
