Additional Ideas - February 2021

Thanks to our TOSHC Manager (Tracy) for submitting these additional considerations and suggestions.

  1. With both the lower oval hall (new TOSHC bulding) and the old TOSHC building - this should provide adequate indoor space - pending if calculations are based on the new proposed plan designed with Selina or the current layout.
  2. If the current layout of TOSHC provides us with inside space of 42 this will get us to 135, if it somewhere around the 30 - 40 figure this would also work as the number does not have to equal 15 each time we increase.
  3. Will they provide us with a cost of either way? Doing the minimum to get in vs doing the dream? If not - My thoughts are to proceed with the current layout, its functional and previously worked. Everything is open and provides clear supervision.
  4. Update the necessities - new kitchen in back room, remove yellow kitchen, remove asbestos.
  5. Leave back storage room and chemical cupboard as we really do need this space to function and keep everything well stored, clean and safe from hazards.
  6. Update office with new desks place floor to roof lockable cupboards for office confidentiality (this also allows me to see across both sites).
  7. Repaint, new flooring, update toilets to maintain children's dignity.
  8. Keeping the costs lower on the building will also allow us to put in an outdoor space with hand ball courts, a basketball net, a cricket pitch, soccer goals and other EQ approved facilities that are appropriate for all age groups to engage in.
